Our Approach
Our focus is to prepare children for an ever-changing world by equipping them with independence, a sense of curiosity and a love of learning.
Education
At Treetops we don’t just teach – we inspire and celebrate every step of your child’s early learning journey. We’re passionate about creating a magical experience that nurtures each child’s individual journey of growth and discovery. Drawing inspiration from acclaimed educational philosophies like Montessori, Reggio Emilia and more, we weave together the best elements to create a holistic, child-centred learning environment. Our curriculum is dynamic and responsive, tailored to develop key skills in early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving, while also nurturing personal, social and emotional growth. We understand that every child is unique, so our approach is personalised to cater to different learning styles and needs. What doesn’t change is our commitment to create a warm and welcoming learning environment, a home-from-home where children can flourish, learn and grow.
Outdoor Learning
We understand the importance of children exploring the world around them and we believe strongly in the power of nature to ignite a child’s imagination. That’s why we spend so much of the day outdoors. From a kickaround in our garden to trips to the Barrow Hill Nature Reserve, we embrace every weather, ensuring children are always prepared to enjoy the adventure. In our experience being outdoors fosters curiosity, resilience, and a deep love of nature. This is especially important in the early years, as it helps develop essential physical, social, and cognitive skills that form a foundation for future growth.
Nutrition
We believe that good nutrition is the cornerstone of a child’s healthy development and we take great care in providing well-balanced, nutritious meals that cater to the tastes of our young learners. That’s why our menus are meticulously crafted, reviewed by a qualified nutritionist and prepared by an in-house chef. Our curriculum also puts nutrition front and centre. Whether its growing vegetables in our garden or planning interactive cooking sessions, we take pride in teaching the children about healthy eating and the joys of food preparation in a fun and hands-on way. We don’t just fill plates; we make sure children have a positive relationship with food, embrace the magic of cooking and learn to become food explorers!
Community
Established in 1993, we’ve become a cornerstone of our neighbourhood, building strong connections and inviting local heroes to inspire and educate our children. From doctors and nurses to farmers and authors, these special visits turn ordinary days into something extraordinary. Our days are filled with joyful experiences that create a genuine sense of belonging in the community: charity bake sales, exciting walks to the local market, bus trips to the town centre, and musical sessions featuring talented parents. Best of all are our visits to the hospital, where children get to ride in ambulances and sound the sirens, adding even more excitement and wonder to their early years!
